CNC Turning Services and Capabilities

Contract CNC Machining

Williams Tool manufactures precision metal parts made of stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, titanium, and other metals and metal alloys. Our work is centered on delivering consistent, high-quality components that meet exact specifications across a wide range of industries.

We integrate live tooling and in-process milling with our turning to improve the overall quality of the product. This approach allows us to complete multiple operations within a single setup, reducing handling and improving dimensional accuracy across every part.

Our CNC turning services support both ongoing production programs and new contract work. Customers rely on us for repeatable results, dependable lead times, and the ability to maintain tight tolerances across every batch.

To keep up with the demands of current and potential contract CNC machining customers, we also offer turn-key processes such as heat treating and passivation, along with additional surface finishing capabilities. These services help prepare parts for real-world use, whether that involves corrosion resistance, wear performance, or final assembly requirements.

Our goal is always 100% Customer Satisfaction.

Capabilities

Specialties and Capabilities

Williams Tool specializes in CNC turning and milling of machined parts in batch volumes between 250 and 50,000, though we will do smaller runs for prototyping. This flexibility allows customers to move from early-stage development into full production without changing suppliers.

Part diameters can range from .25 to 4 inches, supporting a wide variety of component types across different applications.

Our 17,000-square-foot facility in Upstate New York is equipped with multi-axis CNC machining, robotics, and advanced multitasking turning center systems. These machines allow us to complete several operations in one cycle, improving throughput while maintaining tight tolerances.

For customers, this means:

  • Shorter production cycles
  • Fewer setups
  • Consistent part quality across large volumes

We focus on efficient production without sacrificing accuracy, helping customers keep projects on schedule and within specification.

Capabilities

Williams Tool specializes in CNC turning and milling of machined parts in batch volumes between 250 and 50,000, though we will do smaller runs for prototyping. Part diameters can range from 1 to 4 inches. Our 17,000-square-foot facility in Upstate New York is equipped with state-of-the-art multi-axis CNC machining, robotics, and multi-tasking turning centers.

Working primarily in steel and stainless steel alloys (300 series, 17-4, 15-5) as well as titanium, copper, brass, and aluminum, we can offer complete turnkey solutions from raw materials through final inspection and shipment. Our in-house finishing department offers heat treating, passivation services, and more.

Capabilities

Williams Tool quality standards mirror ISO 9001:2008 and quality control is integrated into production at every stage. All active production jobs are inspected multiple times by a floor inspector. This stringent approach to quality control pays off with a historical customer reject rate of around one part per month.

Materials & Turnkey Manufacturing

Working primarily in steel and stainless steel alloys (300 series, 17-4, 15-5) as well as titanium, copper, brass, and aluminum, Williams Tool supports a broad range of material requirements. Each material is handled with the appropriate machining strategy to maintain integrity and performance.

We can offer complete turnkey solutions from raw materials through final inspection and shipment. Customers can send a drawing and receive finished parts ready for use, without coordinating multiple vendors.

Our in-house finishing department offers heat treating, passivation services, and additional surface finishing processes. These services prepare parts for demanding environments and extend product life where needed.

By keeping these processes in-house, we maintain control over quality, lead time, and consistency from start to finish.

CNC Turning Services

Our CNC turning services are a core part of our operation. We produce high-precision components with consistent tolerances across both mid- and high-volume production runs.

By combining turning with live tooling and milling, we can:

  • Reduce cycle time
  • Improve part accuracy
  • Complete multiple features in a single operation

This reduces the need for secondary setups and keeps production moving efficiently. Customers benefit from faster turnaround times and consistent part quality from the first piece to the last.

Thread Manufacturing

Williams Tool provides precision thread manufacturing for a wide range of components. We produce both internal and external threads that meet exact specifications for fit and performance.

Our capabilities support:

  • Standard thread forms
  • Custom thread profiles
  • Tight tolerance threading for critical applications

Thread quality plays a key role in assembly and long-term performance. We maintain strict control during machining to deliver threads that fit correctly and perform as expected in the final application.

Multitasking Turning Center

Our investment in multitasking turning center equipment allows us to complete several machining operations within a single setup. This approach reduces handling and keeps parts aligned throughout the process.

With this capability, we can:

  • Combine turning, milling, and drilling operations
  • Minimize repositioning of parts
  • Improve consistency across production runs

For customers, this results in improved accuracy, shorter production timelines, and fewer variables during manufacturing.

Quality Control & Inspection

Williams Tool quality standards mirror ISO 9001:2008 and quality control is integrated into production at every stage.

All active production jobs are inspected multiple times by a floor inspector. This includes in-process checks and final verification before parts move to the next stage.

This approach allows us to identify and correct issues early, maintaining consistent quality across every batch.

Our historical customer reject rate is around one part per month. This level of performance reflects our focus on accuracy, process control, and accountability throughout production.

Customers can rely on parts that meet specifications and perform as expected.

Custom Solutions at Every Turn

With each new project, our engineering team collaborates with the customer to develop a machining solution that fits the application requirements.

We are comfortable working with tight tolerances and complex geometries. Whether the project requires high-volume production or a smaller prototype run, we align our process with the customer’s specifications.

Our team focuses on:

  • Meeting dimensional requirements
  • Maintaining consistent quality across volumes
  • Supporting efficient production timelines

Even our fulfillment services can be customized with specialized packaging solutions available for unique shipping applications that ensure parts arrive undamaged.

This hands-on approach helps customers move from concept to production with confidence.
