Expert precision CNC machining services for OEMs and custom parts manufacturers since 1955.

Turnkey Processes

Williams Tool, Inc. provides precision manufacturing and secondary processing for customers who need complete component production from one source. Its capabilities extend beyond machining to include vacuum heat treating, passivation, and Micro TIG welding. These services allow customers to coordinate multiple production requirements through one manufacturing partner.

Williams Tool’s turnkey processes help simplify production by connecting machining with specialized processing and finishing requirements. From initial production through secondary operations, customers can work with one experienced manufacturer for precision components that require additional processing.

What Are Turnkey Processing Solutions?

Turnkey processing solutions bring multiple manufacturing requirements together under one production workflow. Instead of coordinating machining with separate suppliers for every secondary operation, customers can work with Williams Tool for several stages of component production.

This approach can simplify communication, scheduling, and quality control while keeping processing requirements connected to the original part specifications. Williams Tool can support projects that require:

  • Precision machining followed by heat treating, passivation, or Micro TIG welding
  • Controlled secondary processing for close-tolerance components
  • Inspection and processing through a single manufacturing source
secondary processing capabilities

Vacuum Heat Treating

Vacuum heat treating, also known as vacuum tempering, improves the mechanical properties of metal parts while protecting surface quality. The process can improve hardness, corrosion resistance, tensile and shear strength, ductility, and elasticity.

Williams Tool performs vacuum heat treating in a controlled environment that removes oxygen and other reactive gases. This helps prevent oxidation during tempering, producing cleaner, brighter surfaces while reducing the risk of scale or uneven finishes on precision-machined components.

As part of its turnkey manufacturing services, Williams Tool can incorporate vacuum heat treating into the production process when a component requires additional thermal processing.

Passivation

Passivation removes contaminants from metal surfaces and improves corrosion resistance. Parts are placed in a controlled acid solution that removes free iron and surface impurities, leaving a thin, invisible oxide layer that protects the material from oxygen, moisture, and corrosive environments.

Williams Tool performs passivation according to ASTM A967 Nitric 1-4, with controlled chemical concentrations, temperatures, and processing parameters throughout each cycle. The process is available for stainless steel and other compatible alloys.

Micro TIG Welding

Micro TIG welding provides precise welding for delicate and close-tolerance components. Williams Tool performs this process under magnification using specially designed power supplies, producing weld build-ups as fine as 0.005 inches with as little as 1/10 of an amp of electrical current.

Computer-controlled Micro TIG welding is suited to intricate machined products, including valve and pump components used in medical equipment and other high-performance applications.

Integrated Turnkey Manufacturing Services

Williams Tool can combine precision machining with vacuum heat treating, passivation, and Micro TIG welding based on a component’s production requirements. This gives customers a single source for multiple manufacturing stages and reduces the need to coordinate each operation independently.

These turnkey manufacturing services provide a practical way to move precision components from machining through required secondary processing while maintaining a consistent production workflow.
